Example case study

The remit was to analyse current ageing XP Metaframe farm running 500 users and plan a progression path to install a new presentation Server 4.0 farm to serve 35 locations from head office with 2-3000 staff.

Comtec installed a Pilot Citrix Presentation server 4.0 Farm to run out to a test office. This enabled the end user to monitor the line requirements to the office and how the applications performed over the links.

The pilot phase allowed the user to understand the new components of Presentation Server 4.0 including the isolation feature which allowed previous programs unable to run under XP Metaframe to now run without DLL conflicts.

Once the pilot phase is complete, the client can specify the hardware required based upon the pilot showing how may users can run per server and also know the type of links required to enable them to do a phased rollout.
