 What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is the cyber assurance scheme operated by the UK Government’s National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC). As of April 2020, IASME is the sole accreditation body for the two levels: Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. For more information, visit the NCSC website .

Assessing the core technical controls needed to guard against the most common cyber threats

Comtec will work with you to implement the required technical controls prior to undertaking the self-assessment process for Cyber Essentials. This is to ensure that the time and cost of entering the process result prove successful at the first time of asking, and that you do not need to repeat the process in order to demonstrate the necessary requirements.

For companies that have passed the basic Cyber Essentials standard, this is an independent audit with testing of your security systems and simulated hacking and phishing attacks

Comtec will take through the entire process, including appointing a certified assessor to conduct the necessary auditing and testing, with the objective of achieving success. Companies aiming for Cyber Essentials Plus must have already attained the basic Cyber Essentials badge within the last 3 months. Successfully accredited Cyber Essentials Plus companies qualify for complimentary cyber insurance and are included on the government website list of certified organisations .
