Comtec is currently underway on a UPS system refresh project for another NHS contract based in East Cheshire; this is the latest in a string of NHS projects off the back of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Following an initial site survey and ongoing consultation, Comtec’ pitted the costs of refreshing elements of the existing 11-year-old UPS system against the cost of an entirely new UPS, as requested by the customer in the first instance, to allow them to avoid unnecessary costs.

Considering the existing UPS’s age, and lack of warranty, Comtec advised a new UPS solution be put in place, which would result in significant savings when cost over the next five years.

Ultimately the NHS customer adhered to Comtec’s advice and is currently receiving a new UPS solution from Comtec and Schneider Electric which will allow for improved efficiency and a lifespan of more than 15 years, giving them total peace of mind when it comes to future business continuity.
