In recognition of their outstanding commitment to youth employment, Comtec has been awarded the Comms Business Awards certificate for “Diversity in the Workplace”, sponsored by Vodaphone Business, alongside BT Wholesale.
Throughout the pandemic, Comtec remained committed to creating lasting job opportunities for young people at risk of long-term unemployment. In addition to over 40 hires through the Kickstart Scheme, Comtec introduced a company-wide training program – The Comtec Academy – and a full-time wellbeing officer to support their development.
In the same week, Comtec also won “Best SME IT Infrastructure Provider, Surrey” and the “Excellence Award for Workplace Wellbeing Support in 2021” at this year’s Southern Enterprise Awards, hosted by SME News. The Southern Enterprise Awards focus on recognising and rewarding the often unnoticed efforts of SMEs from the region with the second-highest annual turnover in the UK.
Nick Claxson, Comtec’s CEO, commented, “We’ve continually developed and adapted our business model to support young people and kickstart careers in the technology sector. Winning at this year’s Comms Business Awards is a great boost for our team and recognition of the excellent work everyone has put in.”
“It was fantastic to also be recognised at this year’s Southern Enterprise Awards, not only for our commitment to wellbeing and diversity but also for our success as an SME IT provider in the region,” continued Claxson. “Winners are judged on merit alone, which is testament to Comtec’s high client retention rate and extensive experience delivering innovative, cost-effective IT solutions for the region.”
